Revelation 15:2–3
 2 And I saw something like a sea of glass mixed with fire, and those who had come off victorious from the beast and from his image and from the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, holding harps of God. 3 And they sang the song of Moses, the bond servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, “Great and marvelous are Your works, O Lord God, the Almighty; Righteous and true are Your ways, King of the nations!”

Session 1

Introduction

Welcome to the greatest love song of all songs. The Holy Spirit has already determined that Song of Songs is the greatest song that will ever be written. 

NOTE: Take these scriptures and make them a part of your prayer life. 

 

Of all the elements that are described in the Old and New Testaments about God, the creation of earth, the wind, the oil, and the water, the fire is the most clear attribute that speaks about His passion for you and me. 

We are not able to truly see God’s love for the world until we see God’s love for ourselves. We enjoy weak people better when we are consumed with God’s passion for us. 

The antidote for disunity is understanding His love for us. 

Some of the headings written by scholars of the Bible refer to this as the “Song of Solomon”, but in the original language, it is called the Song of Songs, which means it’s the superlative. Like the “King of Kings” or “Heaven of Heaven’s”. This is the “song of all songs” according to the Holy Spirit. Solomon wrote over 1000 songs. This is not talking about his best written song, it’s the song of all songs penned by the Holy Spirit. 

I don’t know if you can really have passion for God without knowing His passion for you. It takes God to love God. We need God to kiss our heart with His love for us and the result is insatiable fire for Him. 

 

The Song of Moses and the Song of the Lamb

Revelation 15:2-3

2 And I saw something like a sea of glass mixed with fire, and those who were victorious over the beast and his image and the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, holding harps of God. 3 And they sang the song of Moses, the bond-servant of God, and the song of the Lamb,

Two Songs that will be sung by those who overcome victoriously. 

 

Song of Moses: Exodus 15

A Mighty Deliverance: Victory over our enemy. 

 

But, where is the Song of the Lamb in scripture? How could the Song of the Lamb take a back seat to the Song of All Songs unless they are one in the same? If we are going to sing the “Song  of Moses” and the “Song of the Lamb” on that day, then we better learn both of these songs today. 

How could the “Song of Moses” make it into the scriptures, but the “Song of the Lamb” not make it, unless the “Song of the Lamb” is the “Song of Songs”?

The Song of Songs is filled with surprises that will change your life. For instance, when we get a revelation that we are the “Lily of the Valley” or when we understand, like in Paul’s letter to the Corinthians, that we are the fragrance of Christ to God, something begins to change in our heart. 

In the Song of Songs, He spends all of Chapter one telling her how amazing she is to Him. Then in chapter two she responds after being poured into by the Holy Spirit, and she shouts “I am the Rose of Sharon”. He wants to start her spiritual journey with revelation because it’s going to be tested. Revelation has to be stronger than criticism, abandonment, spiritual attack, and self doubt. 

How could God call Gideon a “Mighty man of Valor” while Gideon was hiding in the wine press? We need a baptism of LOVE. God sees things in us that we don’t yet see. This is why we need the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation. In this eight chapter love song we will see our inheritance in Him and His inheritance in us. God sees you prophetically. 

 

Progression into Maturity

Chapters 1-4 The Bride is focused on what she gets out of salvation. 

Chapters 4-8 The Bride sees what Jesus gets for her being His long awaited bride. 

 

Three Interpretations

Natural: human love story

Allegorical: totally symbolic not based on fact or history

Typological: symbolic, based on fact, and inspired by the Holy Spirit to have present meaning. 

  • Yahweh and Israel
  • Jesus and the Church
  • Jesus and the individual 

It’s awesome that the Lord allowed a man to pen this song. The Holy Spirit’s main commitment, in the scriptures, to you is to reveal Jesus. The Holy Spirit’s commitment to Jesus is to create lovers for Him. Would Holy Spirit allow a book to be in the Bible if it didn’t speak of Jesus and awaken love for Him? In this amazing book we will see His passion for us in our weakness. NOTE: She is first called a maiden and then she is called a bride. 

The God of gods finds Himself desiring something He does not fully have; our whole heart. 

Three Aspects of God’s Nature Revealed

Revelation: Majestic Eternal (holiness and awe). Response: We tremble at His greatness.  

Romans: Legal practical (salvation focused). Response: We rejoice at His goodness. 

Song of Songs: Emotional Passionate (intimacy and friendship). Response: We hunger for the kisses. 

God is looking for a Bride that trembles, that rejoices, and that kisses.

 

Song 1:2

“Let Him kiss me with the kisses of His mouth…”. 

Rabbis say that the unlocking of the Torah [word of God] was the kisses of God’s mouth and the greatest form of intimacy. Here, she begins to ask the Father “Let Him Kiss me… for your name is ointment poured forth” His name is the greatest anointing in heaven and on earth. 

Our cry for truth – “Let Him Kiss Me…”

She cries out [to shout or cry aloud]. This is a cry that comes from a desire given to her by the Spirit of God. We need to ask Holy Spirit to let us experience this desire in increasing measures for the rest of our lives. If this hunger will lead every decision you make, then you will live a blessed life. He is on fire for His people and He is leading us into the fire of a Divine Romance.
