Lesson Overview:
Dreaming is a vital part of the Kingdom. When we recognize that we are no longer slaves to fear, disappointment, or past failures, our hearts awaken to dream again. God delights in fulfilling the desires of our hearts, and He invites us to dream with Him—not just about general Kingdom advancement, but about personal, specific dreams that reflect who He created us to be. Dreams shape our choices, fuel our purpose, and create a supernatural expectation that aligns us with God’s abundant life. The world is groaning for sons and daughters to step into their God-given dreams and reveal His goodness.
Questions to Consider:
- What dreams have you set aside because they seemed too personal, impractical, or impossible?
- How would your life change if you fully believed that God wants your dreams to come true?
Digging Deeper:
Journal this week about the dreams in your heart—both big and small. Write down 100 dreams, allowing yourself to dream with God. Ask the Holy Spirit to breathe fresh life into forgotten or neglected dreams, and watch as He leads you into supernatural expectation.

Awaken the Dreamers
Psalm 126:1-3
Psalm 126:1-3 (NASB)
1 When the Lord brought back the captive ones of Zion,
We were like those who dream.
2 Then our mouth was filled with laughter
And our tongue with joyful shouting;
Then they said among the nations,
“The Lord has done great things for them.”
3 The Lord has done great things for us;
We are glad.
There is something about reminding ourselves that we are no longer slaves to anything that awakens our ability to dream. Joyful praise and laughter are like key indicators to a heart that is allowing itself to dream.
Proverbs 13:12
“Hope deferred makes the heart sick but a desire fulfilled [when dreams come true] is a tree of life”.
Slaves don’t dream because they don’t know how. When we shut down our dreams our heart gets sick and sometimes those toxins leak out on those around us.
When zealous young believers get around sick hearts, hearts that have forgotten how to dream, we can try and bring them down to “reality” and, through our wounding, we try to help people lower their expectations, and somehow call that discipleship.
Back to Psalm 126 - But we are called to be dreamers whose lives are filled with laughter who constantly are saying “God is so good”.
Some may say “I HAVE DREAMS... I dream that the world will get saved or that people get healed or that what God wants to happen will happen... see, I have dreams”. Those are great dreams, they just don’t put a demand on our relationship with God, and they are not personal.
How many of you who are parents would give anything to see your kids dreams come true?
Matt 7:11
11 So if you, sinful people (TPT says “imperfect as you are), know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.
Why would God give your dreams or the ability to dream if He didn’t want your dreams to come true?
Can you imagine asking your child, “Tommy, what do you want for Christmas and your child responds with “Oh Lord, not my will but yours be done...?” “Would you like a bike, how about a bike, which color?” “I could possibly take advantage and ask for a specific color”.
In a religious environment it's easy to discount your dreams and even feel like if they are your dreams, they are automatically soulish.
Ps 20:4
“May he grant to you according to your heart's desire, and fulfill all your purpose”.
Psalm 37:4 (NASB)
4 Delight yourself in the Lord;
And He will give you the desires of your heart.
This actually means that as we delight in God, His desires begin to form our desires and our desires begin to come to the surface because we are living in a reality of delight. He is my delight and I am His delight.
God knows that there are dreams specifically designed for you that fuel your passions.
The enemy wants to undercut those desires so you don’t happen.
Dreams... coming true
Pulls life to the surface: You are contagious when you are dreaming.
Shapes the life you live: Dreams help you make decisions based on the abundant life theology. When you have dreams and you know what they are, you are not overwhelmed by opportunity, because you have clarity as to what belongs to you, which opportunities to grab and which to let go by. Some people can’t handle the abundant life because they are not clear on their dreams.
Aids you through chaos and confusion: Many people think that movement is progress, but when you have a sense of destiny, alignment becomes your compass, not just movement.
Dreaming with God
Causes dissatisfaction with a natural life. The supernatural becomes natural
Convinces you that your life in Christ disqualifies you from the ordinary.
Empowers our dreams with grace. This puts power on your wildest imaginations. It makes your dreams possible.
Dreaming with God makes our gifts and dreams impossible to extinguish. The enemy or modern day Pharisees are not able to talk us out of our dreams. The enemy will try to keep you from happening, but the dreamer in you will fight for you.
Roman 11:29
For the gifts (donation) and the calling (invitation) of God are irrevocable (without regret).
Your desires and dreams are pointing to your calling. The question is “what are we doing with that contribution”.
Dreams are non-negotiable, they create the reality that our destiny has to happen. They create a tenacity, they are the things that you rally around when opposition strikes.
Your argument with the spirit of death isn’t “I don’t want to die”. Your argument with death is “I have unfulfilled destiny”.
Dreams require courage. Bob Jones used to say “The dogs of dooms stand at the door of destiny”. They growl with intimidation as you move toward your door. If you haven’t heard them growl lately you may not be as close to your door as you want to be. If you just take a risk and lunge forward and open that door you will find that these dogs are not huge Rottweilers, they are little chihuahua’s with mega phones. “I cant believe that I let you keep me from my destiny”.
In Genesis 37 - Joseph, called “the dreamer” by his jealous brothers, was thrown in a pit and then sold into slavery because of his dream. It’s not by coincidence that what brought him out of prison was when he interpreted a dream for someone else.
“What would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail?”
Or
“What would you be doing with your life if you were 10 times more bold and courageous?”

We pay big money to Hollywood to produce a movie where we can watch some else’s dream come true. During the movie we are sobbing, cheering, and completely inspired. And then you walk out of the theater and put your life back on... WHY, when the whole world is groaning for you to happen.
Your testimony puts an expectation in the hearts of people that their dreams can come true.
Exercise: we can only hold about 10 dreams in our head at a time. Purpose to write down 100 dreams on paper. Create a list large enough to take years to journey with God to accomplish. You will notice that as you begin to write them down, you will create space for more dreams. As you give yourself permission to dream with God your dreams will begin to find you. You will watch God supernaturally find you and breathe on your dreams so you can know how deeply HE loves you!
Becky and I create a “Dream List” every year out of our BIG 100 list. This is a great way to see God move on your behalf and “according to your purpose”. It keeps the supernatural right in front of our eyes as we watch God move.
We make sure that our lists consists of personal desires as well as the things that the Holy Spirit has said we will see and experience.
Becky wants to pay off the debt of a small country.
I want to see someone get out of a wheelchair
Becky wanted to skydive
I want new tires for my dirt bike
Maybe you want to see an angel
10 million dollars.
Hab 2:2-3 “Write down the vision...”
Remember: when you see a dream come true, tell someone!
It doesn’t matter how impossible your dreams are, write them down. There isn’t anything that He wouldn’t do to see your dreams come true.
